I don't know that I would say that Beast. The offense isn't putting up on 3 points a game like they were under Sanders. Heck, the problem now is that we score 30 and still lose because the defense and special teams is a wreck.

I hope they dont fire him but Ill admit he will have to make some hard moves in his staff - I could see everyone except Taylor, Cut, Chavis being booted - and deserves to at this moment. He will be asked to hire a coach just for special teams also - bank on that. When I watch the games I am amazed at how under athleted we are in several positions and too Im not sure Ainge isnt hurting a little worse than they let on combined with a receiver corp that cant get open. That makes it impossible to run the ball.

Dan Brooks is one of the best DL coaches in the country. He will not and should not be let go. If he were, that'd be the biggest mistake ever made. His track record of putting guys in the NFL is better than any position coach ever at UT. It's not his fault he doesn't have a lot to work with. Also, college coaches don't have special teams coaches. If you want a special teams coach, you have to get rid of a position coach.

Could it possibly be the players and not the coaches? I think some of you guys think that chit can be turned into salad and it cant.

Who gets the players? The coach.

Appy St. has a ST coach.

Why does UT need 2 DL coaches? Hell, it isn't like they're doing a damn good job right now anyway.

    Re: Fire fat phill???

That's the problem lots of times. You can say "who gets the players? The coach." but it's not like he/they are going out getting some kid that nobody except Louisianna Tech is offering. The majority of them are kids with 20-30+ D1 offers. Some times they pan out, some times they don't. The main problem with UT's defense this year is a dominant DL which is strange considering the success they've had with d-linemen. They got sat back big time with a couple of different events at that position. Tony McDaniel having to leave early for the NFL, Mapu looking and playing like an All American as a frosh then taking a couple years off for a mormon mission to come back a shell of what he was, and some 5* guys who everyone in the country wanted (Fisher, Bolden) not playing up to their billing yet. One glaring weakness and about the only one they have yearly on defense is in the secondary. Larry Slade is too old and is just not a very good coach. This year Slade doesn't have a whole lot to work with. Berry is good and will be great, Heffney had the potentil to be an All American this year but seems to have forgotten how to tackle, Johnson and Gaines are just terrible. They're not SEC caliber players. Especially Johnson. He gave up the long td pass to Southern Miss and he was just as lost in the other two games.

Appy State is not a D1 school. Limitations may be different in D2 or he's not an actual special teams coach. Example, he may be LB coach/Special Teams coach.

Yeah I realize that but some kids just dont pan out the way you expect them to. If a couple of classes turn out to be more busts than keepers, it sets you back. Fulmer had one of the best classes ever last year and if they develop, they should be able to save his job easily.

Exactly the point I was trying to make, thank you. If anyone understands just that, I do.
